For in-demand VR headsets like the Oculus Rift CV1<\/strong> and HTC Vive<\/strong>, you can generally expect to get anywhere between 20% and 50% of the original MSRP<\/strong>.<\/p>\n High-end VR headsets like the Microsoft HoloLens<\/strong> (PC) and Magic Leap<\/strong> (onboard computer) blend digital worlds with the physical world. Termed \u201cmixed reality\u201d by Microsoft and \u201cspatial computing\u201d by Magic Leap, these technologies carry hefty price tags: both devices can be worth more than $395 used<\/strong>, despite limited gaming content.<\/p>\n Mid-range headsets like the HTC Vive<\/strong> and Oculus Rift<\/strong> feature large gaming libraries, 110-degree fields of view and room-scale tracking, making them both valuable and in high-demand. The Vive offers more than 2,000 titles on the Steam platform, while the Oculus Rift boasts hundreds of games and runs on PC. You can expect to get $60 to $225 for VR headsets in this range<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The PlayStation VR<\/strong> features a 100-degree field of view and works with around 200 PS4 games. That\u2019s less than the Rift and Vive, but the popularity of the PS4 makes the PS VR worth between $40 and $310<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The Samsung Gear VR<\/strong> can only be used with late-model Galaxy phones (they slip into the device). Considered an entry-level VR headset, it sells for $3 to $15, on average \u2013 though some go for between $2 and $23 on eBay<\/strong> (before fees).<\/p>\n Expect to get around 20% to 50% more if you have VR headset accessories<\/strong> like controllers and sensors. For example, buyback stores will pay $60 for the Oculus Rift with two touch controllers and a sensor. The headset alone is worth around $35. If you only have the controllers, you can still get around $15. Another example: buyback stores will pay $40 for the PlayStation VR headset, but they\u2019ll pay $60 for the headset with camera bundle.<\/p>\n Except to get around 10% to 20% less for each downgrade in condition<\/strong>. For example, at the time of this writing buyback stores would pay $120 for an Oculus Rift in new condition, $60 in excellent condition and $35 in average condition.
