Here\u2019s how to reset your Apple device to factory settings.<\/p>\n<h2>How to reset an iPhone, iPad or iPod<\/h2>\n<p><strong>STEP 1: Back up your device<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Connect your device to Wi-Fi<\/li>\n<li>Browse to SETTINGS &gt; YOUR NAME &gt; ICLOUD (or just SETTINGS &gt; ICLOUD)<\/li>\n<li>Make sure iCloud Backup is enabled and tap BACK UP NOW<\/li>\n<li>Alternatively, you can connect your device to your computer and back up via iTunes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>STEP 2: Turn off Activation Lock\/Find My iPhone &amp; sign out of iCloud &amp; App Store<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>On iOS 10.3 or later:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Browse to SETTINGS &gt; YOUR NAME &gt; ICLOUD &gt; FIND MY IPHONE<\/li>\n<li>Turn off FIND MY IPHONE<\/li>\n<li>Browse to SETTINGS &gt; YOUR NAME &gt; ICLOUD<\/li>\n<li>Select SIGN OUT<\/li>\n<li>Enter your Apple ID password and select TURN OFF<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>On iOS 10.2 or earlier:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Browse to SETTINGS &gt; ICLOUD &gt; FIND MY IPHONE<\/li>\n<li>Turn off FIND MY IPHONE<\/li>\n<li>Browse to SETTINGS &gt; ICLOUD<\/li>\n<li>Select SIGN OUT<\/li>\n<li>Enter your Apple ID password to sign out<\/li>\n<li>Browse to SETTINGS &gt; ITUNES &amp; APPE STORE &gt; APPLE ID &gt; SIGN OUT<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Notes: If you\u2019re switching to a non-Apple phone, you should deregister iMessage by browsing to SETTINGS &gt; MESSAGES and toggling off iMessage. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>If you have an Apple Watch, keep it close to your iPhone and unpair it by browsing to APPLE WATCH &gt; MY WATCH &gt; INFO SYMBOL &gt; UNPAIR APPLE WATCH. If you have a cellular plan, remove it when prompted.<\/em><br \/>\n<br \/><\/br><br \/>\n<strong>STEP 3: Reset to factory settings<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Browse to SETTINGS &gt; GENERAL &gt; RESET<\/li>\n<li>Select ERASE ALL CONTENT AND SETTINGS<\/li>\n<li>You might need to enter your passcode<\/li>\n<li>Select ERASE<\/li>\n<li>Your device will reset to factory settings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to reset an Apple Watch<\/h2>\n<p><em>From a paired iPhone:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Open the Apple Watch app on your paired iPhone<\/li>\n<li>Browse to MY WATCH &gt; GENERAL &gt; RESET<\/li>\n<li>Select Erase Apple Watch Content and Settings, then confirm (you might need to enter your Apple ID password)<\/li>\n<li>If prompted, remove your cellular plan<\/li>\n<li>Your Apple Watch will reset to factory settings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Without a paired iPhone:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Place your apple Watch on its charger<\/li>\n<li>Hold the side button until the Power Off screen appears<\/li>\n<li>Press the Power Off slider firmly, but do not slide it<\/li>\n<li>Select Erase All Content and Settings<\/li>\n<li>Your Apple Watch will reset to factory settings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ready to sell your iPhone, iPad, iPod or Apple Watch?
