Selling FAQ

Ready to complete your sale and cash in? Here are answers to frequently asked questions about selling your device.

I have accepted an offer. What happens next?

Once you have completed the offer form, you’ll receive a free shipping label. Reset your device (if applicable), package it and ship it to the buyer. They’ll issue payment within 1 to 3 days of receiving and inspecting your device.

Should I reset my device to factory settings? How do I do it?

Your buyer will wipe your device’s data when they receive it, but it’s a good idea to do it yourself to add an extra layer of security. If you’re not sure how, check out our guides on how to reset Apple and Android devices.

How should I securely package my device for shipping?

Follow your buyer’s packaging instructions to keep your phone safe and secure during shipping. Here are some tips:

  • Wrap your device in 2 to 4 layers of bubble wrap (or newspaper in a pinch)
  • Place it in a sturdy cardboard box and seal it with packing tape. USPS Priority Mail Small Flat Rate boxes are ideal for phones – and they’re free – but any sturdy cardboard box will do. You can also find specialty boxes at FedEx and UPS
  • Don’t forget to apply the free shipping label provided by your buyer!

Do I need to include my SIM card, microSD card and/or charger?

No, you can remove your SIM card and microSD card, if applicable, before you send your item to the buyer. You do not need to send your charger or any other accessories.

Where is my free shipping label?

Your buyer will send a free shipping label via email or your account dashboard. If you don’t receive it, check your spam box.

How soon should I ship my device?

Note your buyer’s price lock period (typically 14 to 30 days) and be sure to ship your device in time for them to receive it before your price lock expires.

How do I get paid, and when?

Payouts are issued within 1 to 3 days after your selected store receives and inspects your device. Payments are tendered via check, PayPal, store credit, Venmo and other methods.
