Find your Surface Tablet Model : 3 easy steps

1. Open Settings

On your Surface device, look for the Settings app, which has a gear icon .

Quick Settings: Swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen to open the Quick Settings panel. Look for the gear icon and tap it.
Start Menu: Tap the Windows button (bottom-left corner, looks like a four-pane window) to open the Start menu. Find the gear icon labeled Settings and tap it.
Search: If you can't find it, tap the magnifying glass icon in the taskbar (next to the Windows button), type "Settings," and select the Settings app with the gear icon when it appears.

In the Settings window, scroll down and tap System. It's usually near the bottom of the list and may have a small screen or computer icon next to it.

Scroll to the bottom of the System menu and tap About. This opens a page with details about your device.

Look at the top of the "About" page, above "Device specifications." You'll see your Surface model (e.g., "Surface Pro 9" or "Surface Laptop 5").
You might also see a "System Model" or "SKU" entry with a more technical name (e.g., "Surface_Pro_9_1951").

That's it! You've found your Surface model. Write it down or use it as needed.

Alternative Method Using Surface App: If you have the Surface app installed, open it from the Start menu (search for "Surface" using the magnifying glass), and check under Device information for the model name.
Physical Check Method: If your device won't turn on, flip out the kickstand (if it has one) and look for a model number or name printed on the back, near the serial number.
Menu Variations: Menus might look slightly different depending on your Windows version or Surface model (e.g., Surface Pro, Go, Laptop), but the gear icon for Settings is consistent.
