Which Samsung Watch Do You Have? How to Identify Your Samsung Watch

How to identify which Samsung Watch model you have.

Look in settings

If your Samsung Galaxy Watch powers on, this is the simplest way to identify it:

  1. Open SETTINGS (gear icon)
  2. Tap ABOUT WATCH, ABOUT DEVICE or ABOUT BAND

TIP: If you have a Gear S2 or Gear Fit2 Pro fitness band, tap GEAR INFO and then ABOUT DEVICE.

Your watch will display identification information like:

  • Model name (e.g. Galaxy Watch4 G9VV)
  • Model number (e.g. SM-R875U)
  • Serial number
  • IMEI number

What if your Samsung Watch won’t power on?

You can still identify your Samsung Watch if it won’t power on. Try these methods:

Check the case

Look on the back of the case for the model name and number. If they aren’t listed, you can still find other clues like case size and material (for example, 44mm Aluminum Case).

Use the Wear app

If you previously connected your Samsung Watch to your phone:

  1. Open the WEAR APP
  2. Tap WATCH SETTINGS
  3. Scroll down and tap ABOUT WATCH

Check your Samsung account

If you previously registered your watch with Samsung, you can:

  1. Log in to your Samsung account
  2. Click MY PRODUCTS

Your Samsung Watch name, model number and IMEI number should be listed. You might also see information like case size, color and whether it’s a Bluetooth or LTE (cellular) watch.

Visually identify your Samsung Watch

Another option is to visually compare your watch to the photos on Samsung’s Watches page. It includes models like Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Watch Active and Galaxy Fit; however, older models like the Gear series are not listed (though you can find smaller images on Samsung’s support page).

Contact Samsung support

If all else fails, you can contact Samsung support for help identifying your Samsung Watch. Options include chat, phone and email support.

We tried their chat support, and the agent was able to identify our watch after asking us to upload a picture.

TIP: Rather than use Samsung’s support page, which asks for your model number, you can click the floating “Contact” button on any other page and select “Message Us.”
